Indie Hair is a local hair salon located at Burwood Melbourne. Their site was built on a free template with poor front-end structure that isn't contributing for local SEO, and an outdated design that is communicating their salon's personality.
The focus of this project was to update and redesign their entire website. Including employee and service CMS, so that they will be able to edit or update without a developer once its built.

The biggest challenge was to sell my service, even for free. Due to the lack of reputation and real project experience. After my service was introduced, the owner showed little interest because they have Bookwell (covers mostly everything but personal website), which is good enough for a local boutique salon.
The biggest challenge was to sell my service, even for free. Due to the lack of reputation and real project experience. After my service was introduced, the owner showed little interest because they have Bookwell (covers mostly everything but personal website), which is good enough for a local boutique salon.
Solutions
I decided to design both colour theme and incorporate a theme change option for the users, and put them through A/B testing to find out which is better.
Because the shop operates mainly by the owner, so I created 2 sets of CMS, one for their services and another one for team members. Images and texts are also fully customizable.

Final Thoughts
The biggest challenge in this project was to understand the main business mission and personality. Therefore, I treated this project as a website redesign, and designed it as their main traffics was from google map, keywords, and Bookwell.
